The Xtender solar photovoltaic solar inverter is a product of high technology, efficiency and reliability unparalleled with other products present in today's market. The Xtender combined with a charge controller VarioTrack or Variostring MPPT will allow you to create an island photovoltaic system in places where there is no national electricity grid or to build a system where you can connect to the network only if your batteries are discharged reducing to a minimum the withdrawal from the national electricity grid with a substantial savings on bills. An electric generator can be connected to the AC input of the inverter, which can be used to supply the loads directly or to charge the batteries. The generator is turned on by using auxiliary contacts installed in the inverter that work according to the programming of some parameters such as battery voltage, working hours and more.

Xtender operation in UPS mode

In this configuration, the national grid supplies energy directly to the load through the inverter "bypass" function. In the event of a power failure or interruption from the grid, the inverter ensures supply to the load in order to obtain continuity of service. The UPS mode of the Xtender offers a switching time of less than 15ms; this switching time is completely imperceptible to the load. This configuration can be used in those situations where the interruption of energy can create a big problem such as: emergency lighting, computers, production processes and more.

Xtender operation on Minigrid plants

Provide energy for professional applications such as hotels, health centers, hospitals, schools, etc. requires reliable, modular and powerful stand-alone systems. Building a public micro-network involves the same requirements. The Xtender / VarioTrack / VarioString product family, with its flexibility, offers the right bricks to build a suitable micro-network. The combination of the products of this family allows the design of systems from a few kVA to 72kVA, covering a wide range of applications. The various means of communication available (GSM, Web, SMS) offer full control of the micro-networks. Moreover, thanks to the integrated frequency control, the Xtender is able to control the on-grid inverters present in the micro-network, allowing the AC and DC coupling of the photovoltaic solar.

Operation Smart-Boost of the Xtender

The operation of the Smart-Boost present in the Xtender is an interesting technology that allows to feed loads with a constant power even if a variable power generator is present as primary source; an example is found on a boat or vehicle where the generator produces power based on the speed of the boat or vehicle engine. How does Smart-Boost work? Operation is very simple! This technology, instant by instant, mixes the energy coming from the variable power generator with the energy coming from the batteries in order to supply a constant power to the loads. This technology can also be used if you want to feed loads that have a higher power consumption compared to your primary source (generator set or electrical network) without replacing the generator set or increasing the contract with your energy supplier.

Single and three-phase connection of the Xtender

The power available to users can be adapted over time by adding additional inverters in parallel to create single-phase or three-phase systems of increasing power. Therefore, it is possible to install up to 9 inverters in a three-phase power system up to a maximum power of 72 KVA.

Monitoring and Remote Control

You can monitor and control your Xtender either on site by connecting it to your computer or via the RCC-02 and RCC-03 displays (optional) with supplied cables, or anywhere in the world with any device (smartphone, computer or tablet) by connecting to the Studotec Innotec portal using the XCOM-LAN or XCOM-GSM devices (optional). With the XCOM-LAN and XCOM-GSM devices they allow the connection in places with GSM coverage or with local internet.
